"Your thanks is enough thanks than if everyone came up
and personally said thank you. Knowing that what we do has made one person more
thankful to be an American, is what we stand for. We have supporters
around the world ready to help, but hometown support is what we need
the most.
You say in your letter that you don't know us.
But, everyone in your town knows us. We are the firefighter who puts
out the fire, the police officer who arrests the bad guys, and the Navy,
Marines, Air Force and Army who fight for your freedoms everyday. We
are the kid sitting next to you in class. We are your friends and
family. And most importantly, we are Americans."
Thank you for the Goody Bags

"Thank you for the Valentine candy. I am a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter
pilot in Iraq. Thank you for your support. It means a lot to us
out here that you all care for us. I miss my wife and kids but with their
support and support from kids like you, I know that I can make it through
this year."
Thanks again
and God bless you and your class .

"I am stationed in ArRamadi area of Iraq. I had a hard day at work,
bad things were going on and we were taking casualties. When I got back, I
was given a Goody Bag. I was not in the mood to look at it. Then I
thought, well, if someone took the time to put it together for me, than I
owe that person the gratitude to open it. I was shocked to find my
favorite candy, Little Smarties and Taffy. Then I read the note from
Julia, "Thank you for saving our lives, love Julia". To make a point,
I have a little girl who is five and she would do the same thing for someone
else, I know she would. So I am asking you to pass this message on to
Julia: "Thanks so much for writing to me and I have hung up your note
for courage before we go out on patrols. That single note gives me and
a lot of other people strength in our time of shadowed hours. Thanks a
million and hope to hear from you again."
