The Press & TV speak out about  Operation Goody Bag

from Classroom close-up NJN TV   (May 2004)     By John Barra, Producer

"In addition to the excellent educational aspects of this project, the children are learning about the concept of service and the idea that any of them can contribute, as they are with sending Goody Bags to the troops which are greatly appreciated.  They learn that this can carry on throughout life - the concept of service."                                                                   Commander Charles Davis, US Navy

"I never was really sure if someone can make a difference, but our Goody Bag project shows that you can . . .  and it feels great"
Dorian Jones, Student

from The Record (May 23, 2004)                     By Merry Firschein
"The kids have a real sense of service and what it means to help those around us" said Navy Chief Journalist John Harrington. "They're really learning that in whatever small way they can, they can make a difference. It's going to take dedicated young men and women to defend American freedom, and these kids really appreciate that.  They have a good sense of the sacrifices these people are  making."

"Everyone was so amazed" that these students could care so much about the Navy, said Ensign Elaine Davis.  When the Marines saw their tribute, they were standing and shouting.  And when the sailors saw the Navy tribute, "I never saw them so happy to be in the Navy" After the presentation, the kids threw Goody Bags to the crowd. "They did a good job" said Marine Lance Cpl. Robert Bachelor. "I had chills."
