We've GOT
. . . MAIL
A
letter from the
Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
Dear Ms. Cosco:
Thank you for sharing a copy of the great work
your students created and performed during the second annual "Night of
Remembrance & Hope". It clearly took great time and effort to
organize such an event, and I am impressed by the patriotism and support you and
your students have demonstrated. Remembering and honoring those who
responded on September 11th - and those that continue to serve - is an
extremely worthwhile and educational project. Perhaps nothing is more
important to winning the Global War on Terrorism as the continued support of the
American people. I truly appreciate your efforts to demonstrate support
for our Armed Forces. Please pass along my thanks and congratulations to your
students for their great work. Best Wishes.
Sincerely, Peter Pace General, USMC
A
letter from a
local
Ambulance Corps
Captain
Dear Jane: The tragedy that occurred on September
11th, 2001 will never be forgotten, although it may have begun to fade from our
memories a bit. Your presentation brought back many of the memories and
feelings that I experienced on that day, and I thank you for that.
Sincerely, MK
A
letter from
the
Department of Military and Veterans Affairs
Paramus Veterans Home
Dear Jane:
We are still in a state of euphoria after the outstanding performance of your
students! The students are beyond accolades for the performance, dedication, and
deep commitment to those who gave their time and lives. The commemoration
of 9/11 exemplifies the evilness that we are dealing with in today's world. With
our young men and women in harms way as we speak, for those who fought in all
the previous wars like your husband in Vietnam, this tribute has enormous
meaning. The fact that you have inspired your young students in bringing
consciousness to the situation so that "we never forget" 9/11 and all the
veterans who have and continue to fight for the peace we enjoy in this country
is uplifting and inspirational!
Sincerely, Doris Neibart, Chief Executive Officer
A letter from an
Honored Guest
Dear Mrs. Cosco: Overwhelming. It's the only word to describe it.
The entire tribute was beautiful and the reception that I received was
completely unexpected. When they called me on stage for the Tribute to the
Navy, they gave me a standing ovation. It was an amazing outpouring of
appreciation and one of the proudest moments in my Navy career.
Cesar Oyuela ET2 Petty Officer United States Navy
A
letter from a sailor onboard the
aircraft carrier
USS Harry S. Truman:
Dear Sarah: Your thanks is enough thanks than if everyone came up
and personally said thank you. Knowing that what we do has made one person
more thankful to be an American, is what we stand for. We have supporters
around the world ready to help, but hometown support is what we need the
most. You say in your letter that you don't know us.
But, everyone in your town knows us. We are the firefighter who puts out
the fire, the police officer who arrests the bad guys, and the Navy, Marines,
Air Force and Army who fight for your freedoms everyday. We are the kid
sitting next to you in class. We are your friends and family. And most
importantly, we are Americans.
Thank you for the Goody Bags .
